It's been awhile, here is the latest version of my Comprehensive Short Ten loading data spreadsheet, updated through 1/17/26. There are four new loads since the last update thanks to people on this page, I have highlighted those loads and all of them use currently available components.

| Hull differences |

I am curious if anyone has experience with some of the older, long-discontinued hulls found in some of these recipes--and if they perform significantly differently than any others. For example, the attached highlighted load. To me, it seems suspect that that much lead on top of that much longshot would produce so little pressure. But, that is not a hull with which I am familiar. Do some of these older hull designs make that big a difference?

I have the same question. I only got into reloading the short ten recently and have scrounged a variety of hulls - Winchester, Federal, Remington, new Cheddites. At modest pressures, are these all relatively interchangeable?

I looked through Pete’s spreadsheet and tried to read a lot of the posts. I have a 10 gauge 2 5/8” Dickson hammergun coming my way. I have no 10 gauge components and I see RST is out of stock on their 10 gauge 2 5/8” loads. I have a MEC Jr I can convert to 10 gauge when I get the right dies. I have Win209 and Cheddite primers. I’m looking to load 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 oz lead loads.
What loads are using current hulls and wads? Thanks Ken |
