I wonder why the lock plates and the floor plates retain their color so much better than the frame. I have a few such examples too.

That is a beautiful gun in amazing condition. That would have to be a fairly early top action? Though I believe there were some that didn't have the doll's head extension that were made as the transition from Lifters to Top Actions was underway. A very nice gun...thanks for sharing!

Jay, this was a one family Ontario gun, little used, and cared for . It came to me through a Canadian contact who asked me to find a buyer. I made some contacts here who has asked me to look for a nice hammer gun at a fair price but then none wanted to proceed, so I bought it. It is indeed a nice hammer gun, modern dimensions. A fun game gun.

I like that gun quite a bit . I assume it's open choked ? We have a 28" grade 2 at the shop in not nearly so nice condition that measures quite open in the right and slight mod in the left .
