Gun shop Surprise !

My wife and I just returned home from a two week vacation road trip up the New England coast. The trip was nice but as far as gun shops go it was pretty dry. There were some some nice doubles at Kittery trading , but nothing memorable.
The last day of our trip took us past a small shop with a road sign advertising antiques,gifts, guns and ammo. I thought what the hell it's a rainy morning with not much to do. I went in to see the typical small shop with low end sporting guns and black guns. I fellow came out who I assume was the manager or owner. I asked him if he had any old doubles for sale. He said he did get some in on occasion but had a list of people to call when he did. I was ready to leave when he said he wanted to show me something. I waited a few minutes, then he came back out and handed me a beautiful B grade , 20g, Parker. After a minute of trying not droll he took it from my hands and went again to the back room. He then came back out with a Parker G grade , .410, again in fantastic condition. Again I had about a minute to examine it. The guns were owned by the store and not for sale. I was standing there kind of stunned when I saw him leaving the store for lunch. I guess he probably knew I had a hundred questions to ask. I ran him down in parking lot to thank him for showing them to me. We parted ways. It was a high light of my trip, but also very frustrating not to be able to find out more about them.

ok ,being from NH ,20 miles from Kittery trading post, what was the name of the shop???

I was hoping it may be a little closer to home since it was the last link of the journey by the sounds of it !!!!!! Like maybe that little gun shop up on Eisenhower ???? ,Didn't think so !!!!!!!!

Scott / Russ , The gun shop is about half way between Camden and Belfast Maine, along Rt. 1 .
Russ, I wish we would see some nice doubles at our local shops . Those days seem to be gone.
The 20g B grade didn't have the typical engraving that I see in many photos. There weren't any game scenes. The action was scroll engraved. There was not 100% coverage , it was sectioned off into distinct panels. I have not had the opportunity to handle many B grades, but it did seem odd. The .410 had typical G grade engraving.

Dave have you ever visited a shop in Hughsville PA called "Dugans Gunshop" ? Hughesville is a bit east of Williamsport . I was in there once about 10 years ago . At that time I was looking for pre 1920 Marlin leveractions so I don't know if they had any nice old doubles . But I do know they had a veritable PILE of old guns !
