It is still rather amazing that a quick search for popular target powders such as 700x, Red Dot, etc still comes up empty for all the big powder/reloading internet retailers. Can't remember the last time I saw a brick of 22LR on a store shelf either. Who ever thought this would happen in this country and for so long.

The last show here in Denver had whatever one wanted for rifle and pistol ammo, .22LR, and powder. It was just all spendy. Powders were mostly $30-$35 per pound. A lot of my powder supply has old price stickers of as low as $1... or maybe $2... I was just at a Michigan gun show and found quite a lot of vintage paper shotshell ammo but prices were higher than what one can get Rio shells for at S Warehouse. I found two ammo cans at one table, one full of vintage paper 20's, one of 16's, and all usable shot sizes, but he wanted what amounted to $15/box so I passed. I'd have gone half that and let him keep the ammo cans, but no more. The Michigan show wasn't anywhere near as well stocked on powder as the Denver show.

The regional wholesaler I generally deal with told me that they have NO shotshell powder at all. And they don't expect any for at least four months.

The reason? Well, that's getting into political issues...

Well, the Alcohol and the Tobacco have nothing to do with it and Firearms are protected under the 2nd so it must be the "E" issue that's causing it all.

I was under the understanding that IMR was to discontinue 7625. None around for months then my friends found some newly stocked on the shelf at Welch's in Lebanon NH and picked me up a few pounds. Wonder what is up - still making it, been in the warehouse?

There could be light at the end of the tunnel. Last night I went to the Kittery Trading Post and they had CCI 22LR and 22 WMR and a lot of it. Prices were not what they used to be, 300 rounds of either 36gr HV HP or 40 gr round nose SV was $29.99. 22 WMR was $49.99 for 200 rounds. No limit per customer. Again this is the first time since a promotional sale last where 22 ammo sold out in minutes that I have seen American made 22 ammo on their shelves without a feeding frenzy.

The S Warehouse here in Denver has all sorts of powder on the shelves, even some 1# cans of PB which is supposed to be discontinued. Still kicking myself for not snagging the three 8# or maybe 12# tins of PB from the Tanner show here last year. Just don't have a way to get it home. Best deal I've seen for at least AR ammos is Wideners. Israeli IMI cans of 1200 rds of 55 or 62 gr FMJ for way cheaper than anyone I've seen in a long time. Same with 55/62 gr FMJ bullets for reloading. I think it was 9.4/12.3 cents each. If I were driving home tomorrow instead of flying I'd be taking some cans of ammo along.
