Gunbroker site - be careful - potential virus

I am not 100% certain but it appears that Gunbroker.com may be attempting to attack older versions of Internet Explorer by forcing you to some site which will supposedly upgrade it. The site was not a Microsoft site so I am skeptical and believe this to be a ploy to give your computer a virus.

The machine I am on is Windows 7 running IE9. I would suggest closing out Explorer with the Ctl-Alt-Del command if it tries to redirect you and use an alternative browser such as FireFox or Chrome for GB.

Steve be careful how you close a potential attack on your computer. Hackers are clever and sometimes clicking on the red X in the upper right of your web browser will lead to an infection. When in doubt use Ctl-Alt-Del and then ending the suspect process is safer.

Good advice Pete - Ctl-Alt-Dlt is the ONLY way to prevent infection.

Hold down the Ctl and Alt keys with left hand then press Del key with right. That brings up the Task Manager. Look under Applications for what is running on your computer. Select the suspected attack page, then click End Task.

That is so far off it's funny. The Apple/Mac world is predominantly higher education, enuff said. Mac's are no longer immune from computer virus' either.
