Default Restock Question

Is there any difference in the orientation of the serial numbers in an original parker stock under the trigger guard and a factory restocked gun? By that I mean if when the guard is off and the barrels are pointed to your right the numbers read left to right at the "top" of the metal which is under the guard. I was told that a restock would be just the opposite. If this is the case I am not sure which orientation denotes original or restock? I hope I was clear on my question.
