Stumbled on this on GB and it was just a few miles from my Mom's so I saw an excuse to go visit. It had been on consignment since summer and they accepted my initial offer. Shocked the hell out of me!
Serial number comes up 1929. VH on the 0 frame with 26" barrels, M & F.
Nice shape and tight but I am thinking refinished sometime long ago.
LoP seems short at 13 1/2 but the stock & butt plate look factory, maybe a youth or ladies model?
I hope to add half an inch or so with a period correct pad.
I had a box of RST shells squirreled away for just such a situation and shot a round on skeet to try it out am pretty happy with it.
My 'collection' now has TWO VHs, a 12 on a 2 frame and the 0 frame 20.

You are correct in assuming that some refinishing work was done. Someone got happy with the bluing salts and hot blued a lot more parts than they should have.

The buttstock does not appear to be cut from the side profile. But I can only tell so much from that. Are you measuring that 13-1/2 from the front trigger?

Brian is right, but still a great shooter, especially if you were able to buy it right. Bet it weighs 6 lbs or less. I have a 26" gun coked cyl and mod--love that combo. Have a 16 DHE whose LOP was specified at 13 7/8, carried it pheasant hunting yesterday.
If it were mine, I might see if I could remove the blueing from the floor plate. Great little gun, Bernie.

Bernie, if I were you, I'd buy a Galco leather wrap on pad. Put it on when you shoot, remove it when you're done. I have 3 different make's of guns that are 13 3/4" LOP. I use a small Galco on all 3, and it gives me a 14 1/4" LOP. I'd try to remove the blue from the trigger plate. Looks generic, and don't cut the stock to add a pad. Use a Galco. Nice gun, will make a great shooter!

The 13 1/2 is at the front trigger.
I shot some clays today at Orvis and saw
a butt cover that looked like an option.
The trigger plate and the forearm hardware are heavy blued while in internal hardware have the original case color. I wonder how much returning to the case finish would lose what's left of the border engraving.

Chemical removal of the bluing will not compromise the engraving really. Removal by polishing will.

Thanks for confirming on the length measurement. The proportion of the stock in the photo does not make it look that short.

I was looking again at the butt, looks to not have the curve. It may have been cut? If so, I'd put an age appropriate orange pad on.

reasercher why would they use a11 ga wad in one of these loads and a 9 ga wad in the other parker load....I seen were a mr tucker developed these loads....charlie

I could not tell if it had a slight curve or not.

But the location of the shield looks appropriate in relation to the butt. So that had me thinking it was not cut.

The butt appears to be straight whereas my 12 has some slight curve to it
