Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
John D.

Oval Engraving
I have a partially re-finished CHE that I am having restored by Turnbull. The gun was shipped to an individual in 1904. According to the research letter the order states "Engrave name on shield". I'm used to seeing initials engraved on shields or ovals. I've not seen examples of full names engraved other than on presentation guns. Is it more common for order instructions to state "Engrave initials on shield"? As a result of the refinish, there is no engraving. The owner was a very interesting individual (Parker Pages article....?) and I'd like to have his name engraved. Do any of you have examples of full name engraving style that you would share a photo of that I could give Turnbull to match? I haven't ruled out initials since they were so beautifully done by the factory engravers. Thanks.

Perhaps I'm not understanding you. But, WAS there anything on the oval to begin with? And if so, why was it removed?
