Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
John D.

Strange Gunbroker listing
I stumbled across this on gunbroker. I've thumbed through the parker story many times and don't recall seeing a trojan barrel on a VH. Something just doesn't smell right here. Any thoughts?

"Description for Item # 347678504
VH 20 ga Parker. Excellent condition. Reconditioned by Parker/Remington in May 1939. This gun has all kinds of condition. All numbers matching, 100 percent barrel blue, 99 stock finish, minor handling marks, you be the judge of colors. Wish I had this gun lettered but a very desireable piece. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking.Am not a dealer, will ship with copy of my D/L. FFL or C/R required. Gun is super tight with very little use. There are no dents, scratches and perfect bores. Middle bead is gone, otherwise perfect. Truly a time capsule. Feel free to call me with any questions-518-605-7001. Thanks for looking, Bruce Lyons I purchased the gun from a retired police officer 4 years ago who told me it has been in his family as long as he can remember. I would not want to misrepresent this firearm in any way.Reserve lowered. "

The seller doesn't say how long the barrels are, and it's not in the book, but there's no reason it wouldn't have had a top rib marked Vulcan Steel. The end of the trojan rib would lead you to believe the barrels are uncut, but I question whether the top rib is original to the barrels. Interesting how the dolls head is screwed onto the barrels. The fore end checkering isn't correct. I can't see it ever being a collectors gun, and original VH 20 gauge guns aren't much more. It would probably be a fine user though.
