Strange Gunbroker listing

I stumbled across this on gunbroker. I've thumbed through the parker story many times and don't recall seeing a trojan barrel on a VH. Something just doesn't smell right here. Any thoughts?

The seller doesn't say how long the barrels are, and it's not in the book, but there's no reason it wouldn't have had a top rib marked Vulcan Steel. The end of the trojan rib would lead you to believe the barrels are uncut, but I question whether the top rib is original to the barrels. Interesting how the dolls head is screwed onto the barrels. The fore end checkering isn't correct. I can't see it ever being a collectors gun, and original VH 20 gauge guns aren't much more. It would probably be a fine user though.

This gun has definitely been reconditioned in many ways at some point in time. My comments to this gun in the other thread was in regards to older, fading cyanide case colors, checkering on forend. And also the barrels, which are Trojan barrels with a graded dolls head held on with a screw to make it fit the Vulcan action.

Personally, the gun would make a good shooter/hunter VH 20.

Nope, Mr. Parker didn't make em that way. I checked and there are factory records available for this 1905 VH with the SN shown. Didn't some the early Trojans have the doll's head extension?.......................George

Yes ,but the Dolls Head had a somewhat different appearance than the others and wouldn't have matched up !At this time I don't own a Trojan Grade or I would post a picture ,maybe some one else would ! Russ

It was basically just simple a rib extension. Not a dolls head.
