Early graded lifter

Not sure if this has been discussed. Minimal engraving and no stock shield. Kind of a head scratcher.

I'd like to see a serial number but from what I can see, it is a dollar grade probably a $225.00 grade that's been restocked in the past and had the friend attachment converted. A letter would be helpful and as always, barrel wall thickness it very important at this price point. Ask seller for the serial number and get a letter on it. Nice gun but????

Jim may very well be correct, but in my estimation, it's a $200 grade. The ball grip guns usually had a gold escutcheon on the ball, which this gun has. SN would definitely help in determining if the fore end latch is original, but my guess is it is. Checkering pattern is better than a $200 grade, but the lessor engraving is why I think it's a $200 grade. In any case, it's a handsome gun, and the price seems right.

There is a lot of very interesting things about that gun. The checkering, though recut, appears to be the original pattern. And it is pattern very unlike anything I have seen before. The shape of the forend latch is also very different.

I was sorely tempted to buy this particular gun.

When I noticed it for sale maybe 2 years ago, I consulted a few friends with more Parker knowledge.

The consensus was that it had been restocked, but that was only an opinion after looking over the pictures. (I may have more pictures yet if I can find them)

The engraving still makes it interesting to me, I had to fight off the temptation when they brought the listing to the top.

Why would there be no SN on the lower tang? I am nowhere near an expert but just looking at the few pictures posted, if that is a re-stock it is one heck of a good job.

It has both the gold oval on the ball as well as the gold shield high on the stock between and just to the rear of the hammers.
And that may be a replacement stock judging by the un-Parker-like features, like the checkering patterns and the nose of the comb.
Very high quality work though, in any case.

That's the top tang.

Lifter

Beautiful wood any way you look at it. And reasonably nice engraving. I tried to talk to them about the price a long-time ago and they were not hearing it. So, I moved on.
