Parker Bros Cape Gun
New to the Forum,
Can anyone give me information on a Parker Bros Cape Gun ? Is it a factory gun etc. |
This is an old thread that discusses Parker cape guns
https://doublegunshop.com/forums/ubb...81&type=thread The gun shown clearly has a rifle barrel insert, which at the turn-of-the-century was a popular gunsmith modification. There are a number of .45/70 gunsmith modified L.C. Smith guns and https://smith-wessonforum.com/thread...-rifle.678832/ We need full size high resolution images of the breech and muzzle ends of the barrels, and the barrel and action flats If it is your gun it would definitely be worth requesting a Research Letter. Click on Research Letter on the Home Page https://parkerguns.org/ |
Some pictures would be nice !

Look in The Parker Story, page 673.

A member sent me his gun to be cased many years ago,(an 0 frame 16ga TL, I think) and, low and behold, it had one of the aforementioned inserts in .25WCF (25-20 Win.) Maybe he'll post a picture here........ |
Yes Edgar, I sold that one and it was a grade 2 16 gauge that had the insert and rifle sights that folded bores were perfect and the full length insert tube was fully rifled and had its own well made extractor. Sorry I sold it.
