I agree with Mike Franzen. The mentioned gun, 181,261, is about the high serial number of scroll engraved single traps. Who has a higher number single trap without a pigeon in the engraving pattern?

SBT 181261
There are two old threads on this with better pictures on 9/23/16 and the letter on 10/16 if interested. I don’t know how to bring them forward.

The "no bird" 181631 is currently for sale on GB.

When did they change from a pigeon to a pheasant? Gary
|
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pheasant on an SC.
|
No pheasant on Parker singles.
|
We sometimes see preasants on Remington era DHE’s floor plates.

Some Ithaca singles may have pheasants.
|
My 5E Knick has what I guess is a pheasant on the left side, but it's kinda stylized - long tail like a cock pheasant but no crest etc. on the head.

In addition to my V1 Parker SC, I just put a deposit on my second Ithaca 4e. This one with a straight stock and 32” barrels. I need a 12 step program. But until then….Id love to find a 5e (& another SC). Carry on!
