I was under the impression live bird shooting was the sport of royalty . I mean the big big boxbird shoot in Madrid isn’t called “The Kings Cup” for nothing .

I stopped at the Academy Sports in Fredericksburg yesterday. They had some Winchester Super X Upland loads at $10 a box.

The Sportsman's Warehouse in Fredericksburg never impressed me with their ammunition selection unless you like steel shot.

Get those grouse loads now before the prices go up and Virginia rams through the additional 11% tax on firearms and ammunition sales.

11% tax on guns and ammo:eek:

I thought Colorado's 6.5% excise tax was bad until I saw what Virgina is doing:shock:

Customer of mine swears it's cutting horses. "This is how rich folks go broke"

Suddenly, a 25 bird one day live bird shoot is about the price of a 200 bird one day clay target shoot. I haven't checked my arithmetic, but you get the idea. What's more fun?

And then there's the rampant profiteering all arounds us regardless of the product or commodity...

filled my tank at my usual Sunoco station here in town at $4.20/gal.

Later drove by a filling station a couple of miles away in the same town... $3.65...:eek::banghead:

.

Helpful hint,

Download the gas buddy app & check it before you buy gas. I drive a Diesel pick-up, and the prices vary so much around here from station to station it could be up to a buck a gallon mistake if you go to the wrong one. I just checked and right now there is a 66-cent spread in my area of between $4.63 & $5.29 for diesel. Regular is a 65-cent spread of $3.34-$3.99

These spreads are the best they have been a in a few days. Last week there were times the spread was slightly over a buck a gallon & that's in about a five-mile radius from my house.

The article about a possible draft is very interesting, especially the "order of draft by age".
