Fairfield Fish & Game, in Monroe, CT will be holding a SxS shoot on March 29. The format is 100 targets Sporting Clays. It is a fun shoot, and FFG has a very fine sporting clays course set out over their extensive lands. The club has a nice clubhouse and the cost for non-members is I believe $55.
The Club is on Hammertown Rd in Monroe, CT a mile or so from Route 25. Monroe is a short ways inland from Fairfield and can be easily reached from I-84, the Merritt or I-95.
I believe they will be sending people out in 5 person squads, so perhaps we could put together a squad or two. Normally, ATV are allowed if used sensibly, but I can check if anyone is so inclined. I typically walk this course.
We will likely meet up on Route 25 so people can follow us over to the Club in the morning. I am not a member of this club, but I do frequently shoot there and I know several of our members are also members of FFG. Shoot is open to non-members.
I shot clays at FFG last Sunday with Todd Kuraly and he let me shoot his 28 ga VH with a Miller single trigger conversion. I believe it has 28" barrels and it is just magic. When I grow up, there is room in the gun cabinet for one of those sweet little 28s.
