Last Sunday fellow PGCA members Eric Eis, Dave Miles and myself met at The Haymarsh Hunt Club for some Pheasant hunting. Sunday morning greeted us with freezing rain from the night befor but we headed out anyway hoping the conditions would improve. We met Dave at the club and it was still raining so we got to looking at each others Parkers. We all had 16's. If memory serves Dave had a VH and Eric and I both had VHE skeet guns. Our guns were mirror images of each other although mine has more wear to it. I purchased mine from a client who got it at a hardware store in northern Michigan and Eric had bought his at an auction in California. Upon looking at the serial numbers to see how far apart they were we discovered they were consecutive numbers!! |

Now the tough part, which one of you is going to make an extravagant offer to the other to buy his gun! Wouldn't a matched pair of consecutively numbered 16 ga skeet guns be the ultimate rarity? And don't tell my you hadn't thought about it! Jeff |

Jeff, I don't think I could afford Rich's asking price and I don't think he can afford mine. I guess we will have to wait for one of us to die and then we can go after the widow to see what she will let it go for. Of course if Rich does real well in Africa maybe he may be a bit short of money after covering those trophy fees and I could get lucky! Eric |

Gentlemen... May I correctly assume that these fine 16 ga Parker fowling pieces will magically appear at the UPSS shoot in June for a round of 5-stand and/or tower shoot ? Pete |

You could say "One in a million" but that would have to be diluted quite a lot to around one in ten million. That is just phenominal! Those twins have to be re-united at some point in the future. You two should put that in your wills... and that they are never to be separated again. BTW, what year were they produced in? And does anyony know what year it was when Regulation Skeet disallowed the use of 16 Ga. guns? Dean |

Pete, Rich is trying to talk me into the UP shoot and if I come the 16 will come too and I know Rich is going and he will bring his I am sure. I told Rich that we should have played the lotto. Eric |

That is an amazing story! I'm with Dean. Can you share anymore info of the history of the 2 guns? I always pay attention to Serial #s when posted, hoping to find a close relative of some of my guns. But to make the discovery you two did is remarkable. Thanks for the story. |

Rich, you must talk Eric into going to the Deep River Parker vs LCs event. There are several of Parkerphools that would enjoy fondling your and Eric's 16's. Sounds like your Haymarket hunt was derailed via weather and 16ga skeeters examanations or did you actually do some bad weather hunting with prize type Parkers? RogerCoger |

We stayed inside and went to breakfast. Weather was just too bad for hunting. Eric |

My Parker skeet gun will be at Deep River and the U.P. shoot. Hopefully Eric will make both (the pressure is on now my friend!!). I'll look the serial number up and see when the date of mfg was. If memory serves its 238 something. |
