Guys I broke my trigger spring on my #2 frame hammer gun today. I would like to shoot this gun in the hammer event this coming weekend. Any help or suggestions as to how to get a replacment would be greatly appreciated.

Is it the trigger return hair spring( on the trigger plate) or the hammer spring behind the lock? I think I have a left lock, and a trigger asembly for a 2 frame top action.

Mr. Hogan,
It is the spring that is wish bone shaped with a dog leg on the end. It looks to be made of bent wire.

Can anyone say what diameter the spring wire is??? Once known you should be able to find it in any major musical instrument store.

The return hair spring is not wire, it is a split piece of large watch or small clock main spring. I have a two frame trigger plate with one in it. I'll bring it to Deep River.

Brownell's sells small packs of music wire in various diameters along with instructions on how to heat them in a conventional oven after bending to shape to maintain their spring-iness. I have seen Parkers with both the flat-style trigger springs that Austin describes, along with later ones that appear to be music wire.
