Looks like those two have an identity crisis . . . they think they're Labs. Will they retrieve ducks? |

Dean, Judy the older one will have nothing to do with a toy or retreaving dummy, but kill a bird in front of her and she is all buisness. and yes she has retreave'd a goose out of the pond. Attached Image (viewed 442 times): |

This was taken on our way to Alaska this spring. She was pretty happy to be out of the car and able to run. Attached Image (viewed 362 times): Last edited on Fri Jun 5th, 2009 04:35 pm by Dave Noreen |

If you take her fishing you can't wade out very far or you're driving down stream looking for her.... Attached Image (viewed 298 times): Last edited on Sat Jun 6th, 2009 12:21 am by Dave Fuller |

Dave - I used to fuss around with field trial Springers. What's her breeding? |

John - I got her from a guy in Illinois. I have her pedigree somewhere, it doesn't a lot to me. She's our first springer (we've always had labs). I bought her because here parents came highly recommended by a friend... that's about all I had to go on. I got really lucky I suppose, best dog I've ever had. Ships passing in the night. After a number of Springers, I now have an 11 year-old lab who is the best dog I'll ever have. About 1300 retreives, and works as a therapy dog at Children's Hospital in Detroit |

That is awesome John. I loved our labs too but none had the panache of this Springer. She retrieves like a machine on land or water, bird crazy, easy to train, great in the house, and most of all just plain hilarious. Here in the Northwest it doesn't get too cold and a lot of guys have Springers because they are great pheasant dogs and good duck dogs if its not too cold. It rarely freezes at our duck club. Show us a picture of your Lab. |

CHARLIE decided the garden hose needed to come through her pet door. Thankfully it wasn't still trickling into some new plantings. She is a little outta control these days. Just finished losing the last puppy tooth and still likes to chew anything and everything.![]() |
