John is right. I just reread the entire thread and find that "Ferguson" was "Robin Hood", and was a professional shooter. You may not have his B Grade trap gun, but you have his trigger guard and maybe another of his guns.

It's a small world, Bill. I don't know if there would be a connection between the Robin Hood guard and the DH though. I bought the DH and a VH 30" off a table at a small gun show in northern Alberta, and the GH with the RH guard from out Mark Dube's way in Ontario. I got the DH around the same time Mark picked up the GH, so perhaps someone's collection was sold off to the different areas and I reunited them. With 1500 miles between them that might be a bit of a stretch. The DH seller travelled the gun show circuit and was disbursing part of a collection of Parkers, though. It's interesting that Mr. Keller was a professional shooter. Perhaps he and Ferguson were friends. I wonder what Keller was thinking when he ordered the odd choke configuration. Were there any shooting games where a cylinder choke on the left barrel would have been an advantage? Was he an exhibition shooter that had a trick shot would have required a cylinder choke for the second shot? Maybe he shot driven birds with it. So many questions that we'll probably never know the answers to, but it's fun to speculate.
Just out of curiosity, the EH letter said it was ordered in 1890 by the Charles Parker Sales store in New York. It was sold to Hartley and Graham of New York in 1894. It was returned in 1912 by C.P. Hayden of Oak Bluff, MA, to repair action and clean out barrels. Does Hayden's name ring any bells for anyone? I picked this one up off a seller in Nova Scotia so he may have travelled there to shoot. Thanks Bill and John for the information.

After reading about so many of your guns and letters, I can't figure out which is which and which shooter's gun has the trigger guard with Robin Hood on it. However, I think it's very interesting that you have one and possibly two guns that have connections to professional shooters.

Bringing this to the top as per Bill's request. I just realized I already had the SSBP for this one.

Hey, thanks, Bob. Now I won't get any ground plowed for two days figuring out your guns. That's a good thing.
