Thought I'd just test the photo posting feature.  Quail hunting in Texas this year has been fantastic!  Probably the best crop of birds in many decades.  And we have until the end of February to enjoy the hunt.

The gun is a 12 gauge DH on a #1 frame with 28" damascus tubes.  Weighs exactly 6 1/2 pounds and made in 1900.  This combination makes for one of the finest quail guns I've ever used.  Normal load is an ounce of 7 1/2 in front of IMR 7625.  Great load with reasonable pressures.

Hope to see y'all in Vegas.

Where did you get the Parker patch on your vest?

They have the patches on E-Bay sometimes. I don't know if they are original or reproductions.

I bought the patch from the PGCA several years ago and sewed it on the back of my Filson vest.  I have no idea if they have more.

I tried to order one from the PGCA Store more than a year ago and got my money back with a letter saying they were out of them.

I bought a couple small ones on eBay, I've got one on my clay shooting vest and I think Roger has the other on his. They're not as nice as the big ones PGCA sold though.

The PGCA patches had a dark brown background in a felt like material.

Gentlemen of the PGCA, etal.,

Several years back I had my daughter make up a quantity of these Parker Patches, at a facility where she was employeed at that time.  These patches were entirely machine stitched ( embroidered ) on either poplin material, or on suede material.  I think there were only a very few on suede, but I still have one for a sample here at my home.

I contacted the local business that I have had some embroidery work done in the past, and the lady there says that she has access to a "patch provider" in the event she cannot in fact manufacture these same patches.   I will be going to her place of business tomorrow morning to see in fact if she can come up with this same patch, or if we will have to get them outsorced.  Whatever the case, PRICE will be a factor, and I will try to get a handle on that issue before getting too deeply involved in the parker patch process.

Quantity will again be the one factor of economy in numbers, but if you gents would be so kind to sorta let your thoughts known on this thread, maybe there can be a revival of these cloth, sew on, Parker Patches.

Charlie, I will enter an order for six patches right now! I have paid as high as twenty dollars (thats the dummy in me comming out) for a club patch.

I have more than one shooting vest/coat that could stand to be patched up.

Also Joe that is one handsome looking DH and when you get sick and tired of it give me first dibs please

Charlie, I have a friend that actually runs a patch manufacturing company. Get a price from your lady then email me the artwork and I'll get a price from him too. Little comparison shopping never hurt.

Yeah, the one that's on eBay right now is pretty weak. I traded some email with the guy awhile back that's selling them.

Apparently it's stuff out of an estate and he's got over 100. The price is high because that's what the first one he sold brought and the family thinks they can get that for every one now. My guess is he's sold very very few.
