I followed that gun on Mertz Antique Firearms for the last year. Wasn't aware it had been listed on GA. Mertz had it at what seemed like a fair price, even considering the D checkering. My days of owning 8 lb upland guns are over. Nice gun with an interesting provenance. Sure looks like a mallard to these old eyes.

I actually found this Parker in the North East, where it was on consignment at a small shop that sold everything from knives to blue willow china to Civil War relics. It was soooo far off the beaten path of high end arms dealers.
The shop owner did put it on GA about the time I found it, but if you looked, he's never completed a transaction on GA and I think that's what kept some buyers away and kept the gun on the market.
Anyhow now resting safely in my safe until November when season opens.

Speaking of nice C grades, did anybody see that bernard ch on gun broker? It looked like somebody got a great deal on that one, I think it went for 4600.
