States it is 1927 Damascus. When did Damascus cease?? This is first I encounter at the vintage given with Damascus barrels. Also, how often would there be a stamping of overload prooved? Continuing education on my part.
Cheers,
Jack

The Brothers P must have had a good supply of Damascus tubes, as they offered Damascus barrel guns much later then the other American makers. According to The Parker Story the last Damascus barrel DH-Grade was 218119. Timothy's gun appears to be newer, I think I read 222805. Seems I've heard stories that there is at least one vent ribbed Damascus barrel Parker Bros. gun.

Doesn't our friend Rich Anderson have one with vent rib and BTFE or am I mistaken?

Dean,
I have a what started out as a GH 16 0 frame with 28 inch damascuss bbls. This was sent back to Parker and reconfigured to a straight grip, SST, ejectors, ssb, and Btf with the recoil lug .
The only damascuss bbld gun Ive seen with a vent rib is the DH that Jack P has.

Jack's gun is very nice, but it is a rebarrel or a retrofit factory vent rib, not originally made as a vent rib gun. It is being offered at a reduced price and should be quite an addition to someone's collection. Last edited on Thu Apr 9th, 2009 12:44 pm by Bill Murphy

Rather than hijacking Jack's post, I'll open a new subject.

I don't know what his reduced price is but last spring/summer I looked at it and he was asking $9500. Tempting but not enough to open the check book.
