Just wanted to post this in thanks to the Giles Family for throwing me a little birthday party recently. It's today actually, the 10th, I've managed to make 39 years above ground and continue to be amazed at the fact.

This was the cake that Anita baked for me, it was mighty good I can assure you.

Also thanks to Ed and Nancy for being there and for the little gifts. I drank a beer out of that glass last night.

Thanks again folks, an old bachelor like me really appreciates things like this more than you know.

Regards,

Destry

Tack on another 40 hunting seasons, as I have, Destry, and it's still just as good pushing 80. Happy Birthday!

Goose hunting last day of season January 15 at Chezzetcook not far from the beach and got the only one that came in, with the little 20.

Greetings and a very happy Bday Destry. 39?! I only remember 39 because I had my first of 11 various orthopedic surgeries that summer.... back surgery. Was back walking ridges but not carrying a pack a mere 7 days later. Carrying rocks for a living is hard on a guys moving parts. It was a glorious summer and every year since I've wondered if I'd be able to get back out and do it again... guess I'll find out this coming week. The last two years I could still walk 25 yr olds into the ground.... not so sure about this year but I'll sure give it a try...  I've learned over the years that, rather than muscle mass, it's mostly between the ears when it comes to that.

King. 79? Out in January bagging geese with a 20ga? I would love to have been there and hope to be able to do the same some day... and many more for you.

Happy Birthday MH.  Ringo says gettin' old ain't for sissies; but, if you pay attention, you might get smarter.

Happy Birthday, Destry.  You are a hell of a gent already and I am sure you'll improve with age.

Cheers,

Jay

Many thanks for all the kind words boys, I really appreciate it.

I had a couple good cigars and a few glasses of Jamison over the course of the day.

I've only got to last three more months to make it into another waterfowling season. *crosses fingers*
