The reason im asking as im trying to find out if I can find more info. on my gun, as im from Canada I know little about this store, or years of operation. What I would like to find is if there is a company ledger that could provide me with name of purchaser. This is very hard to find records,or who has them in CANADA.Thank you Dale in Thunder Bay Ontario Can.P.S yes I have recieved my PGCA letter.

Iver Johnson mostly sold Iver Johnson products, they were a sporting good manufacturer. They actually had their own line of guns, lots of pistols but also low endsingle shot and doubles as well. They made few higher grade single barrel trap guns and some skeet doubles too and some decent .22 rifles.
About every other low end "Saturday Night Special" revolver you see in the US is an Iver Johnson "Owl's Head".

Dale; Here is a Pic. of an old " Iver Johnson Champion ", 12 Ga., It belonged to a very dear friend who recently passed away at 104 years old, He passed the three guns he owned onto me ,this was one of them, Money value ,I suppose is around $100.00, but I wouldn't part with it for anything !It was in rough shape and I had a gunsmith friend redo it for me just to stop the rusting, it turned out well, I hope the rest of you fellows don't mind it is not a Parker, just a little off topic ! Russ, that sure brings back memories! My Dad started me off hunting when I was 10 with an Iver Johnson just like that, except it was a 410. It was one of those guns that I would never part with too but it was stolen .

Robin, I can still remember the day when my dad carried me to Gibson's department store and bought me my first gun, a Stevens single-shot 410. Fortunately, I still have it.

Hey I like Iver Johnson's too I think the single guns cost about $7.00 to $10.00 but a well maid gun. I have a champon 12gage 34" gun marked U.S. a champon 32gage 12 gage single trap gun and a double barrel trap gun marked super trap. I don't think none of them cost a lot new but thoes trap guns have some fine wood in them.

I was trained on an Iver Johnson single shot 20 bore when I turned 10 years old. My dad threw about a case of blue rocks before I finally hit one but after that I quickly got the hang of wing shooting. Thank God for dad's patience and Iver Johnson.
A single shot will make a very careful shooter out of you when in persuit of phasents and squirrels as they were the game of those times. I came as close as one can to wearing out that gun. No I do not have it any more as I graduated on to my grandad's double. ( ie blown out barrels story for another time )

Have you done a Google search? The first hit brings up a 1926 catalog reprint for Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Company, with 177 pages and a list of contents that includes all the gun lines they seemed to sell at that time.

The last Iver Johnson double that I looked at was marked "Iver Johnson Gun and Bicycle Works" (or something close to that) on the frame. Looks like there were several iterations of the company under multiple names. They made some very nice top-break revolvers, and some of their guns are very collectible and priced accordingly.

Cornell Publications has a repro of the 1926 Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Co. catalogue -- http://www.cornellpubs.com/Templates3/Iver%20Johnson%201926.html
Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Co. was the successor to Lovell Arms Company circa 1900. In searching the A.H. Fox Gun Co. records, I've found lots of Fox guns shipped to Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Co.

Iver Johnson Sporting Goods was a high volume retailer of Parker Brothers shotguns. The Parker Brothers order books include many orders from that company, many of those orders being for dozens of guns each.

I used to stop in at Bob Smiths Iver Johnson Sporting Goods store in Boston in the early1950's
They had many top of the line shotguns-Parkers-lc smiths etc as well as their line of firearms
I forget the street they were on, but it was walking distance from the comon and the state house
Dick Shaughnessy a former worlds champion at skeet used to work for them as a sales person
I hope this may be of help to you in your search
