The May show is usually a good one. My friend will have a few doubles on his table and perhaps some of the usual suspects like OFrame and Eightbore will show up...

I have been roped into another function.  I guess Sunday wouldn't be worth the trip.  I would prefer Friday, but I assume that is only for exhibitors.  I used to be a member of the organization, but let it lapse years ago.

Nice that the club scheduled a show over Mothers Day weekend. Causes more problems for us collectors as most women do not like guns and this sort of scheduling causes turmoil in the teepeee.

  OGCA use to do the same thing and the membership raised so much hell they no longer schedule a show on the Mothers Day weekend.

Remember if mama is not happy no one in her home is going to be happy either.

Roger that, RogerCodger - rather than present Mom with my first score on a VH .410 for Mother's Day  a few years ago, I forked out for a splendid steak and lobster dinner with all the correct trimmings.  Went over like gangbusters and I dodged any disappointment she might have had on the relative lack of case colors or barrel blue!

Kevin;

I was asked this morning if I was planning on going to shoot today, my reply to test the water, but not answer directly was I have been thinking about it and she did not even flinch. Hence the coast is clear to shoot.

Supper is porter houses on the Weber with all the required trimmings, unfortunately sans morels, all of which I suggested last evening and was smilingly approved by   Ma Ma. This is my way of setting her up so I can shoot this afternoon ala civility in the teepee aftrwards.

So far so good, Roger the Coger

Wait until Don reports on what he found at the show.  You all will be a bit disappointed that you hijacked his thread and chose not to attend the show.

I just emailed him to his BlackBerry but no response yet. When I heard Don got something good I'm always hot to hear what it was as we've got similar tastes.

DLH

P.S. Though he's got the money to back his tastes up. I've got champaign taste and a Pabst wallet most of the time.

I have to admit I have no idea what Don scored, but it's always something.  I'm almost 40 years into this show and I am still going.

PS - the lobsters and filets were great this PM; not to mention the full day of clay birds I enjoyed while my daughter and better half basked in the the waters and vapors of the spa during mid-day.  My ticket is punched!

We sold 2 Parkers (SC and a VH 12g), a Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade trap and a 16g Ideal Smith along with 4 guns from my buddy's pile of dreck... Had lots of droolers and fondlers on the 3 Parker hammerguns I had on the table but no check writers. On a BH Damascus 12 ga, that surfaced privately but the show was pretty barren...
