Hi...
New guy Here...
I purchased an old gun , without knowing what it was...from an old guy @ 90 years old...I am 60...Found out it's a Parker...never heard of a Parker...
It really had no identification , or manufacturing name on it...except "Anniversary Compeer " is printed on the left side
Well further examination here says it's a Parker...Serial Number is # 3700
which this site says 1874 was the year it was made. it's 16Ga. side by side, hammerless ...with no inlayed or scrolled designs engraved on it
this site also says there are no records for that era.....it was not blued...or rusty, but still in very good shape....so I blued it....turned out pretty good..
Now...what do I have here ? any Idea what it might be worth ? I paid $ 150
Dollars for it 15 years ago....

Bill,
We'll need a little more info for even a guess. How about a couple of pictures of the gun?
Welcome,
Jay Gardner

Welcome to the site, Bill. I'm not too sure what you have there, but I don't think it was made by Parker Bros. They didn't bring their hammerless guns to the market until 1888. "Compeer" was a trade name that Van Camp Hardware of Indianapolis, Indiana used on firearms made by Crescent Firearms Company. If you would post some pictures we could be of more help.

SN 3700 should be an early lifter 10ga with 30" bbls....Probably not a Parker Brothers shotgun.

Hello friends...
Yes, upon further investigation...it looks more like its the Crescent Firearms, or American Gun Mfg. ...from 1896 - 1933 sorry...and their is no information available on it...thanks for your help....it looks more like a " Hardware Store Gun" as they were marketed ...probally low end...
well I always wanted a 16 Ga. side by side....its still in real good shape, if I use game loads, it would probally be ok ....Thanks for your help...
Bill
