Dean,
My guess is that's not something he told every Jap that he met.

I'm sure that's right Destry. As I understand it many of those who flew those missions and were even remotely involved in those significant bombings, though they saved countless American as well as Japanese lives, lived afterward with the weight of remorse ever afterward.

The Japanese have a long history of high quality workmanship in weaponary. From the feudal military retainers of the Japanese daimyo, the ancient Samurai, to the exquisite Parker reproductions for Winchester.

It would be nice to find out who did the work. I can't find any signature but I don't have a loop either. I hbope to come to the shoot in PA in June if anyone attending has a loop and would care to bring it we can search the scrolls for a signature.
In TPS Runge engraved several guns very colse in serial number to this one.

Derrick-The only thing I can tell you about the wood is that its very dense and...well..pretty . The blank came from Cecil Fredi in Las Vegas, NV. He sent pictures of about 40 blanks and Del who did the work and I looked through them for something that would match the existing forarms (I didn't want to have to have 2 BTF made ) and was relatively straight grained in the wrist.
