He is passionate in his refusal but he didn't begin to explain what is wrong with our jury system, or what is right about it. David

I wonder why he doesn't tell them how he really feels about jury duty?

Now boys, don't take me wrong on this because I have served on jury duty and in the military and try to do all my civic duties. However a few years ago I was summond to serve jury duty for the month of September. I simply asked that I serve in October as I would miss dove season. That was fine with them and in fact I didn't have to serve that year at all.

Harry, my friend, you brought this whole thing into perspective. I have faith that the local jury administrators here will have a similar attitude. By the way, we missed you at Sanford.

For some reason or other our jurisdictions disqualify "lawyers". Rank discrimination. It'd be a kick in the butt to get involved with 12 Angry Persons; especially with certain Prosecutors trying to own the show.

Fred;
I truly appreciate your comments on a prosecutor trying to own the show, however, shouldn't the judge step in and throttle back such a DA? thus keeping a trial in an orderly and totaly understandable state to the jurors. Prossecutors and defense attorneys can get nasty.
We just had a case of armed domesticate violence in our town, second time the villian did this in less than a month. His bail was far too low to start with and now he is tying up our court system ie $$$ for a second time. The bail for the second time ( totaly unnecessary if done right the first time) is much higher. The villian seems to be some sort of business man that places him above the law and not one of the dredges of society but now he has joined the dredge society clan and the porosecutor and judge had better do their jobs right this time around.
Our print media in this town never mentions who judge or prosecutors are in the trial system, must be some kind of judical fear with the media. Such a mention in the media sure would make voting time a much easier on choises!
