Donnie:

Frank Lefever had a gun repair/restoration business in Lee Center, NY for years.  He did some good work for me on my grandfather's double back in the 1960s (as I recall).  I believe he had some Parker barrels and other parts and worked on  Parkers.  I don't know if the business is still there or not, but my guess is that Frank is now gone.

I think the shop is still in business but they don't do Parker work anymore. They were actually the Parker factory repair shop for awhile after Remington stopped doing it. I've got some letters between them and a repair customer dating in the early 50's relating to him sending them a gun to install ejectors on.

The old phone number (1-315-337-6722) rings a place called Giacomo Sporting who claims they're a gunsmith shop that bought Lefevers out. They say they will work on Parkers and that if you call you should talk to Dan Lokker.  I don't know anything about them and don't know anybody that's sent them a gun so do not consider this a recommendation. If you want Parker work done there are lots of folks that are well versed in it and I'd think hard before sending one up to somebody that nobody has ever heard of.

Destry, you'd better to some checking before you say no one has heard of this guy...This is the VERY WELL KNOWN Giacomo Arrighi of Perazzi fame. "Giacomo" as he is universally known is THE go to guy for all Perazzi work and work on any fine shotgun if one chooses to do go there. He is one of the best gunsmiths in America adn a great guy. Check out his website.

The Lee Center shop was passed to Andy W. of Andy's Custom Shop when Frank retired. Andy had worked for Frank. When Andy moved to Utica, Giacomo who had been in Rome, NY moved in. There are no more "Lefevers" in the gunsmithing business to my knowledge and frankly a lot of the work that came out of Frank Lefevers shop was mediocre at best.

I thought there was some Andy's Custom connection there but wasn't sure what it was. Not knowing anything about over and unders, I'd not heard of these folks.

Destry- picking up the 36" newly restocked GH 10g on Sunday a.m. The Ithaca NID 10g Magnum single trigger gun I had out to be re-stocked in upstate NY is also on the way back. Both straight grips with Silvers, English walnut on the GH and eastern black walnut on the Ithaca.;)

I'm chomping at the bit to see that 36 inch GH, that's gotta be one good looking piece of hardware. I turn my nose up at the Ithaca in preference!
