These pictures you fine men have posted give me chills. I think of how the love of hunting, guns,dogs, and appreciation for the outdoors was well passed down to all of you.

To me this is the greatest part of our American heritage. It's an honor to have you share these grand memories.

Great stuff for certain, always a pleasure to see stuff like this.

Roger,

Dig that picture out, we'll get it scanned in so you can post it for the boys.

Will,

I didn't even know you were from Michigan. One of these days we've got to get all the MI boys together for a shoot.

Destry;

 Lets follow up on the thought of an all Ohio/Michigan shoot at Island Lake and the sooner the better, perhaps the same weekend as the Sourthen. Sort of poetic justice for the way too long of a drive to the Southern. Besides this venue has much better hambergers and beer.

The Northern/Southern Spring Commeradie Parker Shoot

PS We will come away with more sporting photos for posting on the Parker BBS, hats and all.

Main reason I'm not going to the Southern is it's the same weekend as the big Novi Antique Arms Show. I've got a table for that one so I'll be tied up all that weekend.

Yeah, it's not a bad show at all. Last time there was one guy there selling military but it was mostly vintage stuff. Lots of doubles and other older guns, old ammo, little bit of western memorabilia, some vintage military memorabilia, etc etc.

I just registered tonight.  I bought my first Parker a few months ago and since, a few Parker books.  I may be hooked.  I thought I would share a picture of my Grandfather's sister, Louise,  his Remington 11-A and setter.  The location is Beckville, Texas.  My grandfather bought the gun when he got out of the Army in 1918 and was the only gun he ever owned.  It provided him much sport on bobwhites, ducks, rabbits, and squirrels as well as putting food on the table.  I started hunting squirrels with it as a teenager.  I inherited the gun and yes, it still has the wrist taped up as seen in the picture.  I never asked him how the break happened.  I think I'll leave it just the way it is as a reminder of the many "miles" he put on it.

Well.........actually my grandfather called his gun "Hannah".  I'm not sure of the young setter's name although it could be "Scott" or "Rodfield".  I remember him talking about them.  He also had a Gordon that he was pretty proud of.

The boys may howl to hear me say it, but there's nothing like a Model 11 really. I've got a couple that I seem to shoot almost as much as my Parkers.

Dealer set up is Friday night and it's open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure and look me up if you come down Tim. I've got a table right next to Jim Marsh.

Here's more old hunting pics as promised. All taken in Ontario. My grandfather here is holding a Winchester .401 autoloader that my youngest brother still has.

Here they seem to have had some luck with moose. My grandfather left an unsplit suede moosehide in our farmhouse that I still have and have made all sorts of stuff from, ranging from tire sandals to a hat to a knife sheath. The guy in the upper right is from the SuperDux company.
