Well my friend Dean was not the only New Englander to score this weekend. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found this beautiful DHE 20 gage with a nearly 15 1/4" LOP. I finally have an original Parker that will not require a Galco pad to shoot with.

Very nice gun Larry. I wonder why it is that we see so many nice Parkers in the 150 thousands.

If you cut off that skeleton plate to put a pad on, can I have it?  ( just kidding)

It's a wonderful original gun and it almost fits me. I would have to shoot it "high gun" though, because if I tried to shoot low gun with it I would continually catch it on my vest when trying to mount it.

And, regarding those ducks, in the words of my father (an aeronautical engineer)when he first saw a C-54 Super Guppy "Aeronautically speaking, that thing can't fly !" Those have got to be the fattest Parker ducks I've ever seen - they're beautiful in their absurdity. I love that gun Larry. It was a great find. Congratulations!

And we know you didn't have Deb in mind in when buying it ;)

Bill,

I have not received a letter yet but was told they were ordered with the gun. Unfortunately while both post are in tact only one swivel came with the gun. If anyone knows were I could get one I would appreciate that info. In the mean time I plan to stop at the Lyman gun sight factory which I drive by every day on my way to work and see if they are still making them. If all else fails I will just make one.

Larry,

Nice find. So let us know when you get the factory letter so you can confirm the factory swivels. I have the second to the last Hammer Gun Ithaca ever built and it too has swivels. The swivel you posted on the barrel looks just like mine. I hope you plan on brining her and your 16 ga CHE to the Southern this year.

What a beauty Larry. The dog on the right side looks to be in need of a bit of dieting also. Seems like pretty unique engraving on the floor plate.

Larry very nice find esp in a 20:D. I await the UPS man & the stockmaker. I feel I'm being held hostage by Father time as all I can do is wait...and wait:(. At least I'm getting in a little shooting with what I do have;).

Perhaps you can demonstrate the value of the sling swivels in the Grouse coverts. You have an open invatation here. We'll even let you bring Dean if you need a traveling companion:P.

Dave, you guessed it he also requires some dieting.

Rich, I may have to take you up on that.

Larry,Maybe with such a long stock the Parker policy was to have heavy animals to help keep the balance ;)
