Friends:

In a previous post, I mentioned that I had seen an unusual 2 barrel set.  Yesterday, I got to examine it again quickly.

What we have here is a GH 12 ga with 30" damascus barrels, serial no 85917 on a no. 2 frame, so no surprises there.

However, at some later time it has been fitted with a Vulcan steel 16 guage set, also 30".  This set has matching nos and its own forearm.

Kinda cool, don't you think? , although it makes for a very heavy 16!

I wish the gun receiver had a little more color & condition, but it is what it is...

Dave Miles will post a couple of pictures soon, and I apologize for the quality - had to handhold in poor light!

Regards,

Al Zinn

That is a similar story to my heavy 1889-vintage GH-Grade Damascus barrel 12-gauge on a 2-frame.  It was back to Parker Bros. for a set of 32-inch Vulcan 20-gauge barrels, and also got the post 1910 bolt and the replaceable bolt plates.  My gun was done after they changed the rib inscription from Conn. to CT, U.S.A.  My original Damascus barrels are very heavy and straight with virtually no swamp and the gun weighs a fraction of an ounce over nine pounds with them in place.  The 3-inch chambered 20-gauge barrels swamp a lot and the total gun weight with them in place is 8 pounds 4.5 ounces.
