At Tulsa Wannamaker's show yesterday. Huge crowds, more than I have seen before. I didn't hang around the black guns or pallets of .223 and 9mm ammo, so I escaped personal injury.
Saw old friends Bob Skuse and John and Jason from Puglisi's. Hung around with Rip Watson, the case fellow. Hung out with Doc Van Blaricum, Joe Wood and Joe Burton.
One GHE 20ga there was quite the gun, a 221 something SN, looked about brand new. Close to doubling in price within one year, now asking $24,500, not from a known Parker dealer. Wow.
A fair number of Parkers in miserable to OK condition, and a few from Bob's gun shop in his usual exceptional condition. Puglisi had a couple nice lower grade guns.
Bought two cases, both made for Parkers. The first is a black pebbled leather Griffin and Howe labeled Brady 28" case, this is for a friend.

He has a few nice Parkers and might be able to find one that will fit. Attached Image (viewed 382 times):

The rare oak and leather, brass corner style. Even rarer in a small bore. I had just the old gun that would fit in. Attached Image (viewed 378 times):

Ebony small bore rod.
The case originally had a 20ga DHE, but the gun had tangled with a tiger and the elderly owner thought the gun was worth a substantial figure, so we could not make the deal. Subsequently he sold the gun to a small southern dealer who had no interest in just an old case. Took two years.

Nice find Bruce. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is green with envy. And about perfect for a certain little CHE twenty. Last edited on Sun Apr 5th, 2009 11:25 pm by Dean Romig

Yeah, and Bruce pawned a worn out 16 gauge GH on me while I was feeling sorry for myself and vulnerable. Actually Bruce, we got back home in mid-afternoon and I had time to clean those dangerous damascus barrels and they're just about perfect. Nary a single pit in 'em. Still have a little lead to get out (the barrels, not my butt). I think it's going to be a fine shooter. I'm going to pull the stock in a couple days and clean that filthy action. It's floating in what appears to be unrefined crude oil.... Oh, the bores both measure .663 and both chokes at .023. Might cut the barrels back to 25" or 24" to make it a better brush gun. Nice meeting you--even if you did take all my money.Last edited on Mon Apr 6th, 2009 02:16 am by Joe Wood

Bruce, it was so nice to see you at the Tulsa gun show and Thank You for all the introductions and pointers you gave me on identifying good Parker Guns.

Joe, 22"s and you can use it one handed while you hold the spotlight in the other. I figure its right for a Texas oilman with all the crude oil in it. But I'm not sure I sold you the mineral rights....
Nice to see you again Van. Now if I could only find a good Parker for myself.

Also thanks for the heads up on William Larkin Moore in Scottsdale, spent a little time and a lot of money while there.

My old hunting buddy who lives in a fishing shack along the Mississippi just got his new case in the mail and emailed me a better picture. Seems a shame to put his best gun, an old worn out Trojan, in it. Attached Image (viewed 98 times):
