I have a Parker Brothers (Serial #103822 I believe makes is 1901) Double Triger SXS Damascus steel 12 guage. The hammers are internal. I believe it to be a field grade, and it's in good condition.
The last patent on the gun is March 1878. I've had a hard time finding a ballpark value of a gun in this condition, and age. I would also love to get the model of the gun.
Anyone have any idea where I could get some loads for it? I have some old black powder loads, but they must have gotten damp since they're no longer working...
More importantly, anyone know where you can get loads that are legal for waterfowl, and safe for the gun... Would love to take it hunting!
Hello Frank, Welcome aboard, your gun is not listed in the serialization book but there are many knowledgeable folks that with a few pictures would be able to identify the grade for you and possibly a ball park value.Did you just purchase the gun and is this your first Parker ?
Hello Frank & Welcome Aboard: I believe that any Parker is worth $40 to get a letter from PGCA. That will give you as much information as is available. Before shooting anything in it I would have it inspected by a competent gunsmith. If he OKs it then RST mases low pressure loads that will work just fine.
Best Regards, George
