Greetings Members,

I have contacted Mr. Dewey Vicknair about a recase job on my 1901 DH Parker. After a few emails back and forth he assured me that his case color work on Parkers will create an authentic appearence close to the original work. That being one that is more muted, less swirled, more on the purple and blue hued side, and with less straw color. He seems to really know his craft. The problem lies in that he does not have pics available of past recase work on Parkers.

I thought perform a search for Vicknair on this website and found that many people speak very highly of him. So I contact Jent Mitchell and after an enjoyable talk with him on the phone he agreed to email me some work that was done by Vicknair in the past. The only problem was that most of the pictures were of LC Smith work. I still want to thank him once again for the pics and the discussion! Are there any members out there that have examples of Vicknairs case color work on Parkers that could be made available to me? If you do not feel comfortable posting them here and would like to send me a PM that would be more than suitable. Thanks in advance for the help.

Best of luck,

Hello Gentlemen,  I have one Parker 10 gauge "EH" Grade that had the damascus barrels and case colors restored by Dewey Vicknair.  I have been shooting this Parker 10 gauge side-by-side so I have already put some dings on it and in it.  This Parker shoots like a dream, Dewey tuned the triggers and action very well for my style of shooting.  It should be a great gun for the five stand at The Southern SXS.  I think the new case colors by Dewey came out very nice on this "EH" grade Parker.  Restoring case colors is always a bit of a gamble but we faired well on this job.  Jent
