Bruce,
I'm behind the power curve here. What's the story on this gun? Once owned by John Moses Browning, you say?

It was John Browning's own trap gun, loaned or given to PGCA by a distuinguished collector several years ago. It is in a fitted glass case and has been shown at the annual meeting and a few other gatherings.

Jim, see our report on the Madison Wis Pheasant Fest for more photos and the exhibit. There is also mention of Browning in TPS. Last edited on Wed Mar 25th, 2009 02:51 pm by Bruce Day

Jim,
I first saw the Browning gun at Pheasant fest in Madison this year. It is the property of the PGCA. I asked Mr Herzog and Mr Swanson since it is the property of the PGCA, and since at that time I was the newest life member if I could borrow it for a few rounds of trap? Board Members really have no since of humour. As a matter of fact they banned me from ever touching any of the guns on display. I told them if wipe the drool off fast enough it wouldnt hurt anything. I guess thats why they keep the Browning gun in a glass case that Mr Swanson made. I spent the rest of the show cleaning the drool off the case, mostly mine. This may be the reason why Doc Van keeps his 20ga CHE out of my reach.

Jim, I know the PGCA is pleased to have this gun and to be able to present it in the present minimally restored condition. Maybe you'll have an opportunity to inspect it some time. I know in Madison we had it in a glass display case, but if a person really wanted a closer look, we had it out later and he could.
