When I was about eight years old my Great Uncle Audry in Murray Ky sent me out to the corn field with a bag to snipe hunt.  I came in at about 10pm, he just laught and said when your father was your age he stayed out until 1am.

Dean,

A story from my childhood I should have kept to myself.

The morning of the great Snipe hunt we were at church, and in my youthful excitment I was telling all my Uncles Friends how we were going Snipe hunting.  Uncle Audrey just stood there with a big smile.  City Kids from the north.  I am sure there are more Snipe adventures among you guy's, let's hear them.

You need a stick to beat them to death with once you get them into the sack as well. Or one of those foldout Army field shovels, I actually think that's what they gave me when I went out on my first "snipe" hunt at camp.
