This impressive gathering of "brother's" was still missing some family members notably; Bob's straight grip BH which is in the body shop for a new rear bumper, Scott's straight grip DH (He had to leave it behind as he drives a half ton and one more gun would put him over the weight limit), My straight grip GH which is out at Del Grego's getting a full body make over, and Finally Bill who just bought his first Parker two weeks ago, a Damascus GH (thankfully he was not there because after getting his first Parker he developed a habit of seldom missing a skeet target).

My guess is George will have a Parker to shoot by the 4th of July.

PS. George was a shooting at a dime........he doesn't take face or butt shots at them, only on edge.

Dave, I hope we can plan another Sunday like today. It was very casual and plenty of shooting. The weather worked in our favor we had the International Skeet field to ourselves all day.

Bob (aka Jethro) I am not sure where you can find them as I don't think LaCrosse makes them in Size 18 :D

Man, did we ever have a great day! I left my house after packing my stuff into the car in a raincoat, hat and umbrella and the wipers at full speed. But the rain let up when I was about halfway to the range and soon it stopped altogether.

Major Waldron's is a very nice shooting facility and I was met by a fun group of PGCA members as well as some others who are not (PGCA members that is) As you can see by John's pictures, almost every configuration of Parker was represented in the rack with some really outstanding examples. We traded off guns so we could experience shooting gauges and configurations we had never shot before.

John, you may be forgetting that a lot of readers of this thread have shot with me before and don't believe a word you say about my shooting capabilities ;). That picture that Drew posted is one I was very familiar with today as I watched many station eight misses just sail away :?.

Thanks John, for sharing that cute little .410 VHE with the straight grip, SST, checkered butt, twin ivories, and BTFE . . . did I miss anything?? Oh, and by the way, thanks for fulfilling my lifelong dream of shooting wobble-American skeet with a 32" full/full AAHE ultra-special-order totally tricked-out double trap :P I really enjoyed that experience.

Hey Suponski, I've got a very comfortable spare bedroom if we can put this together again and if Danny comes along I've got a second very comfortable bedroom for him too.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome and a great morning of doing what we like to do more than anything. . . well, almost anything ;)

There are eight stations?  Holleee smokes - no wonder I only got a score for each round of 25..???  LOL!!!!

Only the NON AUTOMATIC SAFTEY - which cost took me a minute (or 20?) to get used to on your 28 ga???  BTW - if you ever - and I mean EVER want to sell your 28Ga - my offer still stands..  $1000 - cash.  Ben Franklins and the serial numbers won't match.  Just let the ink dry, OK????

Honestly?  Grandpa (my great grand-dad) would have been pleased that Parker enthusiasts like you, Scott, Pete and Bob admired it - and took a minute to shoot her.  Grandpa was that way...  I would know..  I first wielded "Grandpa's Parker" when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old???  At the same time - he would chastise you - those are 34" barrels (back to my comment at the range - about the length of "a foot" ;) )...  It's another story why it's in my possession - and that's for another time.

But - I'll probably just say this as well...

I do not know what there is about Parkers.  I don't really know what it is about Parker enthusiasts.  What I do know is this....  When I look at my Parkers - and meeting many of you to just "shoot", like today - Parkers also build memories and bond folks together through a common interest and a love for Parkers.

Yep - my fondest memories for Parkers go back to sitting on Grandpa's lap.  He'd brag about his Parker.  He deserved to.  He shot it at many trap events - back then.  In the late teens and early 1920's...

But - unlike him - I don't shoot like him.  I've run only 100 at trap.  He ran many more. But for him - it wasn't about the scores.   For him, it was about both the guns and the people.

You - Dean - and Bob, Scott, Pete - are those kind of "people"...  That's why I know he's smiling going:  They had fun today - thanks for shooting my Parker..

Dean,Thanks for the lodging invite sounds like a plan! Already got the two trap guns and skeet gun packed!

Hey Dunkle....I will not pay ya a dime over $2000.00 and if I subtract for all the emotional distress I had to go through for ya not makin the Addieville shoot I think we are about even:D

But if we ever pull this off I promise to behave....kinda....and not wear any NY stuff;)

I still say that was a pretty impressive rack.....of guns of course:)

Yan'no Dave - to publicly post that you actually might have missed me at Addieville, is commendable (actually "remarkable" might be more accurate.. ;) )..  Sooo - I'll forgive the $2,000 - and when you show up - your first two rounds are on me....

Of course, I would have paid for your entire day - but, then there is that "Yankee fan" thing....  ;)

Best to you!

John

I *only said I would flame you* - but you showed up - so I didn't..??  In fact - I tried to convince folks you were the next National Skeet Shooting contender.

I guess folks didn't buy that?   Frankly - I dun'no why??

As for anyone else flaming you (past (Larry) or future (Rich)) - you are on your own, buddy...

;)

OK I just got back from a three day shoot fest called the Upper Pennisula SXS Classic. Let me tell you boys you need to attend this shoot. I know I shot 2 cases of shells minimum:shock:.

The shoot consists of 120 SC, 30 birds in a pigeon ring set up, and the flurry which is 75 birds thrown in 2 1/2 min. I got off 52 rounds and hit 43 birds. Side events are a 2 man flurry, 4 stand and a poision pair where a orange bird represents a Rooster and the green bird a hen. If you shoot the hen its minus a point.

I digress so lets get back to Deans shooting ability or lack thereof. If he did well he took his lesson from the Southern well and kept wood to wood (his face on the stock) AND kept the gun moving or it was tethered with a rope and a bystander gave a tug at the command of PULL!!

Rich, you neglected to mention the 26" barrels with twin ivories choked open/open :D

Jack you say? I know where mine is but it looks like I will be making a trip to the apothecary for another as this one is almost down to the sediment.

(yes apothecary - it is used strictly for medicinal purposes only)
