In 2001, I bought a 16ga DHE and since then have slowly been restoring it. The last two steps are to have the stock and forearm re-checkered and refinished and to have the receiver and trigger guard recased.
I live in the Chicago area. Can anyone on the Forum recommend someone I can contact for either of these services? I.E.: Someone who will charge fair prices. Thanks.

Go with Oscar Gaddy who is on the Board of Dir of the PGCA. His case colors are outstanding and he could direct you to a stock maker. He is in Ill and his number is on the Parker site. Eric

I just had a CHE restocked by a gentleman named, Doug Mann, who is in that area. He is a master, though he does work more as a hobby. Oscar knows him well, in fact, he recently dropped off my gun to Oscar for re-coloring. Email me for details if you like.

Both Doug and Oscar will remind you that the original trigger guard finish was not case hardening color. Some other gunsmiths may not know, so be careful who you go to for advice.
