I have been hunting with a 16g,strait grip, single trigger, VHE, #239870. It has two Remington repair codes stamped on the flat, one from 1938, the other from 1959.
Will the letter describe the repairs, possibly ejector or single trigger installation,or was that not recorded??
Thanks Dave

The last repair records we have are in the teens(1917) and there are a few in the last order book(101) that runs from the 1920's to the early 1930's. We do not have any repair records after 1934 which is when Remington acquired Parker.

Post your repair codes for our information. The 1959 repair code is the same as the 1937 code. Are you sure that one of the codes mentioned in your post is not the date of manufacture code? The third character in the code indicates, if I remember correctly, date of manufacture, parts replacement, repair. 1959 is not an impossible date for Remington repair, but it is rather late.

Mark/Eightbore,
Thanks for your replies. The gun's serial # is 239870,according to the info on this sight that shows a 1934 production period.
The repair codes are on the barrel flat as I'll try to show,
B G 3 olo R F 3
The gun has ejectors but ther is not a patent date on the forend iron.I thought maybe the ejectors were installed at a later date.
The single trigger has the two exposed screws I thought this may also be a later addition.Any additional info would be appreciated.
Thanks again Dave
