Default How many.....

What is the highest total or dogs or birds factory engraved on any given Parker?

- Photos too if available please.

I would imagine this may have been discussed before, but if it has I could find it.

we did have a couple threads on 3 dogs guns -

here is one -- http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14238

I don't remember one with a count of birds I'll start with 6 on a D grade hammer

one on the right sideplate, two on the left and three on the floorplate

I remember some early hammerless A-Grades which had a high number of birds on them.

One that comes to mind has a hen woodcock on the floor plate with seven chicks on the ground around her. And, if I'm not mistaken, there are other kinds of birds engraved elsewhere on the frame of the gun. That gun is one of my very favorites.

Another A-Grade (I don't remember if it was a hammerless or ) has all sorts of birds on the floor from marsh birds and herons to warblers and other songbirds, I don't remember what was on the sides - could have been dogs, could have been birds, could have been stags and hinds, I just don't remember, but the bottom of the frame and floor plate were just outstanding.

Then there is the A-Grade with four setters, at least five birds and a frog on the bottom of the frame and the floor plate

Generally, a B-Grade hammerless will have two dogs engraved on each side of the frame and there may be other dogs elsewhere, like on the trigger guard or the floor plate.

I probably have pictures of these guns, and others as well, but I am not comfortable with showing pictures of other people's guns.

Mills

I expect it will be an early season hunt. Or at least a fair weather day. But we will hunt those guns! Craig shot a limit of ducks on his maiden voyage of his AH this past season. It was a hunt for the story books - 4 drake mallards and a Black duck - And he shot a double! - truth be told the mallards resting underneath my widgeon duck club gun on the cover page are his ducks from that hunt. The day Steve came up for the photo shoot I was not hunting the widgeon and we met with Craig at the boat landing with his glorious bounty!

I am counting down the days Doc! We are gonna knock them down again!
