3 frame barrels on a 2 frame??

Is it possible to fit barrels from a 3 frame onto a 2 frame?? Would it be unsafe, expensive or just plain silly??

The firing pin centers are different.The 3 frame barrels are significantly larger in cross section...just plain silly...
