Default Checkering Question

Can anyone tell me what the Lines Per Inch is for Parkers? Does it vary by model, grade, frame size, etc. If so, I'm primarily interested in the density LPI on a buttstock and forearm for a #6 frame, grade PH or NH.

The lines per inch for checkering does vary by grade. But even within grade it can vary from gun to gun.

A PH/NH gun would normally be around 18 lines per inch. Speaking in terms of modern checkering tool spacing. If you are checkering from scratch, that is a safe number. But if you are working with existing checkering, it should be measured to confirm what it is on that specific gun.
But... if recutting checkefing that is all there, a spacing tool is not really needed. A single cutter is all one needs.

Thanks, 18 is what I was measuring. I'll take your advice and get a single tool, because a little clean up is all I need to do, especially around some of the edges.

Vance, hopefully you have some experience checkering before working on a Parker. If you do, I apologize for my response. Even deepening with a single line cutter takes skill.
