Default WHITE SMOKE & "TOMMY COPPER"

FINALLY! It all came together yesterday morning for an unforgettable, silver anniversary hunt in a legendary spot the locals call "Thunder Ridge." A piece of woods that if I labeled it Turkey Heaven, I'd be understating its charm. I was alone with my treasured, Paul Butski slate, 1895 10b 4-frame top-lever hammer gun and two, brass BP shells. My first black powder bird.
Honestly, this Fox guy is still shakin'........

Many people to thank for the assist. More news at 11.

and a 4 frame to boot- I dropped out of the bidding on one on GB a couple years ago that had a stock issue- if i had only known how unusual they were I would have hung in there

sounds like a story to be published in there

Yeah Bill, I actually prefer a SG in a quail gun.....

Sadly Dean, I couldn't carve a pumpkin. I won it back in '85 at this "Rockwellian" sporting goods shop in Elmira, NY that I'm sure by now is a Walmart parking lot! This place was a treasure, where all the hunters would meet, BS and weigh-in their birds. I called in a 22+ pounder for my buddy that morning, big enough for 3rd prize in their daily raffle. That call has been with me ever since.

"Quack": this one looks like a poult next to your two!! Hats off to your self-imposed, 28 yd limit! Too many boneheads attempting 50+ yard heroics who have no clue what their pattern looks like at that range. I won't shoot until I see their eye lashes!

The tractor (New Holland?) in the top foto is a nice touch of country. Good bird.
