Dean, This gun is the only grade 3 with 28" laminated barrels and I believe the only grade 3 with laminated barrels made, According to my calculations a total of only 12 lifters were made in 20 gauge in all grades. According to an article in the Parker Pages 2010 Austin Hogan list 11- 20 gauge lifters archived prior to the introduction of the top lever. Approximately 55 top lever guns were produced in 20 gauge in all grades. So you see the 20 gauge lifter is a very rare gun in any grade. According to my figures They are as follows 1-A grade, 1- grade 4, 1-grade 3, 4- grade 2, 5-grade O. As with anything Parker you never know what will turn up and a lot of records are missing, but still the parker 20 gauge lifter is among the rarest Parkers made, Gary

Perhaps 20 years of savings won't be enough after all.

Gary, I agree that the 20 ga. lifter is among the rarest of all Parkers.
I'm going to dig through Austin's files tonight to see just exactly what he has on the 20 ga. Hammer guns. |

I found Austin's research sheet on Parker Bros. twenty-gauge guns with exposed hammers.
There were 14 Lifter 20 gauge guns made, the highest grade, according to the document I have, were three Grade D3 guns and one L3 gun, ser. no. 15838 . There were 32 Top Action 20 gauge guns made, the highest grade, according to the document I have, were four D3 guns an one one L(grade not shown) ser. no. 54851 . And just for a bit of spice to this thread, here is the only picture I have of the gun Gary owned with the engraved extractor. What a work of art that gun is. . |
