Default Is this a Parker Bros.?

Hi, I'm a new user to the forum and a complete novice to the world of fine shotguns but am looking to break the ice with a Parker (and then another...etc!) LOL! I have an opportunity to purchase this gun but am unsure if it is a true Parker Bros. as it doesn't look like it shares the same look about the action...would anyone be willing to give me some advice about this? I only know that it's a 12 gauge with hammers and the SN is 96745 which seems to be an SN produced around 1900. Thanks for any help.

English made, before you by a gun buy a book, these were inexpensive imports a long time ago

I was at an auction a couple of weeks ago and didn't know that the 2 volume Parker Story set was buried in a box in the other ring...I saw it later that day with the purchaser...she got them both for $35...I was beside myself but she knew what she had...no talking her out of it...I do have a copy of PARKER, AMERICA'S FINEST SHOTGUN BY PETER H. JOHNSON 1961 on it's way though and will be scouring the book boxes at future auctions. Thanks.

Joe, if you plan to become Parker educated you will need to buy the two-volume "The Parker Story" at whatever price you can afford. You will probably never see both volumes at anything close to $35 again in your entire life. That was a complete and utter fluke.

I will be on the lookout...I've gleaned a tremendous amount of info from this forum and website just in the spare time I've been able to spend browsing it. Just the advice given tonight has been awesome! I really appreciate it. I am sure I'll become a member of PGCA some time in the near future.

Joe, allow us to thank you in advance for your impending membership. The benefits far exceed the $40 annually.
