Every 4 th the local paper publishs the Declaration and i read it. When i come to last line i choke up a little thinking of the risk they took affixing their name to such a treasonous document.

And for the support of this Declaration with a firm reliance on the Protection of Devine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

Some lost all but their honor.

The proceeding two "celebrations" get a month each.
It's only fair that America's birthday should get at least a month, as well.

Let us not forget why this day exists and fight like hell to keep all our liberties. Not just the ones that directly impacts us. That’s why we’re the GREATEST NATION ON EARTH. Happy Birthday America and God Bless us all

The sincerest homage we can pay to the signers of that document, is to continue to fight for the liberties referenced in it. So, act, vote, and pray.

As the late Soviet defector Yuri Bezmanov said in a 1984 interview, "There is no other place to defect to".

God bless America! Joy and I stayed in and watched the Boston Pops celebration which was very nice. She wanted to go down to the Plymouth waterfront to watch the fireworks. I said no thanks, that stuff is too much of a reminder of Viet Nam for me. I've seen all the heavy fireworks to last me a lifetime. But I thank the good Lord that I was born in this great country of ours and having served it honorably.

We live in the greatest country on earth. God bless you all
