Default Old Hudson S X S Shoot - Sparta, GA

This is early notice I know, but I received word from my friend who is organizing it that the 2022 event will be held on Feb. 25 and 26. Yes, it is planned to be a three-day event.

Old Hudson Sporting Clays is a beautiful venue outside Sparta, GA. The food and targets there are always first class.

No shoot agenda has yet been released, but as soon as it is I will add it to this thread. Ray just wanted us to have advance notice of the dates so that we can plan ahead.

Stan, is it a two day or three day event?

My bad ...... it is a three day event, John. I looked at the agenda incorrectly. Thank you for calling that to my attention. (I corrected my original post). It's on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'll probably drive over early Friday morning and spend that night at Lake Oconee at The Lodge. If I get a wild hair I may go on Thursday and stay two nights. I love shooting at Old Hudson.

Sounds like fun to me .......

No promises, but I hope I can make it over.

Stan, is this an annual event at Old Hudson? That might be something I'd put on our shooting schedule and bring the Mrs. along. It would be a great trip to get away from Old Man Winter!!

Yes, it has been held for several years, Mike. But, previously it had been a one-day shoot. I think the upcoming one is going to be a concerted effort to draw larger numbers of participants. If this first three-day event is well attended I believe it will become an annual three-day event as opposed to a one-day. I'm hoping for more vendors to show up, too. The point man for this event is Ray Ward, a longtime friend and devoted L C Smith collector and shooter. Of course, the Bush family owns and operates Old Hudson, and have successfully run it for a number of years. They are very hospitable folks, and dedicated to promoting shotgunning in general as well as lots of registered NSCA events throughout the year.

Take a look at all the events, past and present, on their excellent website.

Mike has a good point. This might be a great winter getaway. I'm game for next year.

For me, all they need is to have plenty of events to shoot. Vendors are secondary for me, but I know other guys like them. Might have to definitely schedule a getaway for February 2023!!

Yep. Could care less about the vendors. Usually overpriced anyway.
