Pointer Grade Superposed

I know it isn't a parker, but I thought some of you miggt enjoy it. It is double signed by Vandersmissen? Haven't seen much about him. Excellent shape and seems factory original acvording to what Mr. Reis told me. Cabellas sold it to me for just over $2500. The gun library guy said it had been cut or else they would have wanted 6k for it.....It may very well be cut with that spacer, but the recoil pad is factory as is the LOP. I am halfway tempted to yank off the pad and put one of those red pads that is on my Parker, but that would affect originality. Forgot to add that it has 28" barrels. Factory length. A little short for most broadways.

Anyway, I am thrilled with it, it hasn't been shot much and it is gorgeous. Now to figure out what I shall sell to make up the money before my wife hunts me.

LOL...A wee better than any Pointer Grade I've seen...that one is worth a letter from the Browning historian for sure.

At the risk of perpetuating a non-Parker thread, I have one observation:

The key to this gun's real worth may well be "Richard J. Levin" as inlaid in gold on the frame.

Yeah I know the gold inscription is factory from talking to the browning historian. It wad sold to someone in Los Angeles in Dec 1964 but I haven't really found anything yet.

I also really appreciate the "superposed" and shoot them on regular bases. Broadway with 32 inch barrels is hard to beat.

That is a super gun! And i highly doubt the stock is cut down. Is it a Browning marked pad? Even if the pad is not original, the value would not be effected as much as they figured. You got a great buy. I would contact the Browning historian on it for sure.

It is a Browning pad which according to Mr. Reis the Browning historian, it came facrory with it. Signature is also factory.

Also, that was what I was thinkimg regarding it being cut. When I first saw it in Ft Worth it was simply labled Browning Superposed so I figured thwy didn't have a clue what it was. I contacted Mr. Reis to ensure it was what I thought and not a later acid etched P grade. When he confirmed it for meI bought it. I was shocked when the fairly knowledgeable Gun Library director said it was a nice pointer and that it would be 6k if not for the cut stock... I can't see that it is cut and even if it is, that is way to big a discount for that minor an alteration. Its the same price I got my pigeon grade that has a screwin briley choke in top barrel....
