I've looked at that one a few times myself and the forend appears to be original but I'm having a real hard time trying to convince myself that the buttstock is. It just doesn't seem right in several ways although it isn't a bad job. The thing that causes me the most doubt is the angle of the butt... much too 90 degree with the comb and should lend about eight or nine inches of pitch presuming the barrels are 30".

Thanks Dean,
I was wondering about the butt as well. I also thought the checkering was suspect.

Mike,

I'm out of the loop on prices, but I think that gun was started at about twice what it is worth.

The checkering pattern on the buttstock is interesting. However, most interesting is the "original repairs to the stock". I have never seen such a thing before. I may buy this gun just to see what an "original repair" looks like.
