Default Slippery Recoil Pad

One of my leather covered recoil pads is slippery, and slips down on my shoulder a bit. In the past, I have dealt with this by taping a little piece of grippy rubber used for jar lid removal on the pad. Anyone experience similar problems? How do you deal with it?

Thanks,

Matt

I’ve used rubberized carpet tape from Home Depot on my leather pad. Rubber side adds enough friction for the gun not to slip and adhesive side pulls off without leaving any residue.

Try some moleskin available at a pharmacy. I think your real problem is the pitch of the stock.

Daryl has a valid point on the pitch. I recently had the same problem with a slippery leather faced Silvers pad. I super glued a piece of sand paper to the pad problem solved.

Yes. Usually pitch is more the issue than the surface itself. But it will be made worse with a slick surface.
